MÄDCHEN AMICK
Founder / President

Mädchen Amick came onto the Hollywood scene as a teenager in the iconic 1990 David Lynch directed Twin Peaks cult series as ‘Shelly Johnson,’ a role developed specifically for her. A role she reprised 25 years later in Showtime’s revival Twin Peaks: The Return. Never one to rest on her laurels, after a long and successful acting career in other award-winning projects such as; Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers, Dream Lover opposite James Spader, Screen Gem’s post-apocalyptic thriller Priest, ER, Damages,

Mad Men and American Horror Story: Hotel - just to name a few - Mädchen has become a successful writer and director. Along with music videos, documentaries, and her feature film directorial debut - garnering film festival laurels - she has directed several episodes of the long running hit show Riverdale, to which she also stars in the feisty role of ‘Alice Cooper.’ Her profound real-life experiences have inspired Mädchen to take on brave projects in order to change how mental illness is depicted in Hollywood.

Close to her heart, is her mental health work around the globe. She not only works closely with premiere organizations such as NAMI, SAMHSA, American Psychiatric Association, Bring Change to Mind, Kids Mental Health Foundation, and the The David Lynch Foundation but continues to advocate on Capitol Hill and speak at the United Nations for mental healthcare reform. Because of Mädchen and her family’s first hand experience of the inadequacies of our existing mental healthcare system, they founded the non-profit direct-impact Don’t MiND Me Foundation, with initiatives focused on making mental healthcare accessible for all. Donations will directly fund their initiatives; Advocacy, Action, Access - to include resource technology, education, training, treatment and support services for those effected by mental health challenges and their entire family unit. Don’t MiND Me’s Crisis Intervention Scholarship Fund provides financial support for individuals who are in need of primary mental health treatment without payment options. Their new project is the Mental Health Recovery of Palm Springs - a holistic all-inclusive campus with a long term approach to provide all levels of mental health care.
