Mental Health Recovery of Palm Springs

The Don’t MiND Me Foundation was born from the challenges the Amick-Alexis family personally faced while navigating through a broken mental health care system. Unfortunately to date, accessing primary mental health treatment is unattainable for most, due to a lack of providers and unaffordable costs.

This year, we are overjoyed to share that our fundraising focus will go towards our very own DMM treatment center, Mental Health Recovery of Palm Springs, a holistic and community-integrated recovery campus. The MHRPS would serve as a centralized hub offering crisis stabilization, substance use disorder and behavioral health residential treatment, outpatient services, and preventative healthcare.

We’re ready to light the way:

Southern California faces some of the state’s highest rates of suicide, addiction, and homelessness. Behind the numbers are underserved communities and families whose lives were altered by trauma, untreated mental illness, or stigma.

Our promise:

The Mental Health Recovery of Palm Springs will serve as a centralized hub offering crisis stabilization, substance use disorder and behavioral health residential treatment, outpatient services, preventative healthcare and overall long-term wellness. We will customize each individual treatment plan ranging from 30 days to a year depending on the client’s personal recovery needs.

We need your help this fall:

We’ve already funded dozens of scholarships giving people access to life-saving treatment. With your support, we’ll scale that commitment into a $6.5M recovery campus for Southern California. Our Promise: We’re ready to light the way: We need your help this Fall: Help us raise $25k by our BHCIP grant application deadline of October 28 2025, and an additional $25k by December 31 2025 to fund the operational backbone (administrators, legal, grant writing, and outreach) that turns this vision into reality.
